Pear Jam Books is a new publishing company created by author and manuscript assessor, Jill Marshall.

While Pear Jam Books came about rather suddenly, to publish the Christchurch fundraiser Curly From Shirley, the Christchurch Dog, Jill has been thinking about this company for a long time.

The company is founded on two fundamental principles:
1
Connecting the author with their readers through a choice of story experiences.

All Pear Jam Books publications will be offered in four formats:
Picture

is for Play.  Get your stories as apps, as games, as a chapter to inspire new stories.
Picture

is for E-book.  To download directly to your PC/Mac or your e-Reader.
Picture
is for Audio.  Your story narrated (or sung!) by an actor, singer or the author themselves, in CD or downloadable form.
Picture

is for Read.  The book in its printed form, for a traditional reading experience.

Check out the PEAR formats on
Curly from Shirley's website and
Jill Marshall's own website.
2
Honouring the authors and illustrators who create the books.

As a successful author herself, Jill has learned how authors like to be treated.  So jAm is, j for Jill and m for Marshall, with a big A for authors, at the heart of the company.

Pear Jam Book's charter for its authors and illustrators will include:

*  Quick responses within stated maximum
     timescales

*  Enhanced and flexible contracts to
     honour the creator's contribution

*  Respectful consultation at every stage,
     including editing

*  Regular communication, including sales
     figures and reader feedback

*  Exceptional marketing and PR

*  Open and shared reader connections

PJB  books are all fiction, ranging from picture books through to adult fiction.  They are chosen because they are fantastic stories which are extremely well written; they have international appeal, and they translate to each of the four PEAR formats.

PJB authors in the immediate future are likely to have been clients of Jill's writing consultancy, Write Good Stuff (as with Emma Pullar below).  Jill has seen and loved their work before, and knows that these are serious authors who will work to co-create something wonderful.

As a result, Jill apologises that PJB won't be taking any new submissions until further notice.  If you still wish to contact Jill, please click on one of the links below.
